Renewable energy contributes to sustainable development by ensuring that future generations have access to clean, reliable, and affordable energy resources.
A coordinated approach involving government, private sector, and international partners will help to address the challenges (regulatory, financial or technical) that hinder the development and potential of long-term renewable energy policies and goals.
1.6.1.1. Launch first RES auction and announce 3-year auction plan. BiH will launch first RES ("Renewable Energy Sources") auction and announce 3-year auction plan, permitting procedures time for renewables to be reduced by 50%, while ensuring that installed capacity for prosumers will be more than 180 MW.
1.6.1.2. Permitting procedures time for renewables reduced by 50% (including households, public buildings and large installations) to enable faster deployment of renewables. It is essential to simplify the procedures and, accordingly, adjust the relevant by-laws (define criteria for the conversion of forest or agricultural land into construction land, simplify the procedure for obtaining environmental permits, etc).
1.6.1.3. Installed capacity for prosumers is more than 180 MW. The design of an incentive mechanism for prosumers will help to give a push to renewable energy.
1.6.1.4. At least 0,9 GW of new renewable energy (solar and wind) capacities installed (according to the NECP and Energy Community targets). This will contribute to increase investments in the field of renewable energy, and the incomes generated from this sector, the security of supply with electricity.
